What is Common Pledge?
Selling or buying on Craigslist or Freecycle? Common Pledge helps ensure that all parties intend to show up at the meeting.
When meeting a stranger (like to sell or give away an item), ask them to visit commonpledge.com and pledge to meet you. Common Pledge saves time by reducing the "flake factor."
How does it work?
A small cash pledge demonstrates a person's good-faith intent to show up (and is incentive to do so). After deciding when & where to meet, a person pledges that they'll attend.
As a neutral entity, Common Pledge facilitates this commitment.
And after the meeting?
Just click who showed up. Based on that, the pledge will be available to the sender or the receiver (reusable for future meetings). Even leave comments.
And we've all had last-minute obligations come up. No one can guarantee attendance. Common Pledge helps show good intentions and real commitment.

Avoid Scams:
- Deal locally, with folks you meet in person.
- Only a scammer "guarantees" or "protects" your transaction.
- Don't send money directly to strangers.
- Never disclose bank accounts or personal finances.
- Meet in public places, with a cell phone.
